This is a statement of how LUDUS Art School approaches teaching and learning. It’s not a policy, but a reflection of the values that shape the student experience.
Creative Honesty
We value work that is authentic - not always tidy, not always easy, but honest. Students are encouraged to explore ideas openly and create work that feels meaningful to them.
Non-Extraction
We aim to create a balanced and respectful learning environment. Students’ time, energy, and creativity are valued, and the course is designed to support sustainable, meaningful work.
Leave Things Better
Whether it’s a space, a relationship, or a project, we aim to contribute, improve, and cultivate. Our presence should add something positive and constructive.
Care Is Power
Care is our most important human attribute. Our courses are designed to be student-centred and supportive. We deliver through thoughtful structure, clear guidance, and responsive feedback.
Inclusion Over Alienation
Inclusion starts with design. We aim to create a space where all students feel welcome and able to take part. The course is designed to safely reduce barriers and support different ways of thinking and working.
Experience Into Insight
Students are encouraged to draw on their own experiences and ideas, turning them into meaningful creative work. Art-making can be a powerful way to develop confidence, voice, and agency.
Championing Others
We aim to build a supportive creative environment where students feel seen, encouraged, and part of a wider learning community.
Balance as Practice
Students are supported to work in a steady, manageable way, building progress over time without unnecessary pressure. We balance short-term actions with long-term goals.
Discipline as Respect
Structure and consistency are part of the learning process, helping students develop focus, resilience, and respect - for themselves and for others.
